This spotlight program is held in conjunction with the Pulaski County School System through their nomination and directional process on choosing the educator for the monthly spotlight that will run from September through April of each school year.

Congratulations, Kara Turk, for being selected as this month’s Teacher Spotlight!

Kara Turk is a third-grade teacher at Pulaski County Elementary School. She has five years of teaching experience, all in Pulaski County. According to PCES Principal Monica Bass, Ms. Turk is a dedicated teacher who works tirelessly to ensure that her students perform at their highest potential. Kara implements strategies that she learns from others and considers herself to be a lifelong learner. Last summer, Mrs. Turk participated in a book study and employed countless teaching strategies, particularly in writing. Mrs. Turk’s students have become proficient writers because of her perseverance.

Mrs. Turk believes that all students are unique and learn in different ways. She strives to include multiple teaching strategies in every lesson, so each student has the opportunity to learn through his/her preferred learning style. Her students are thriving due to her ability to differentiate instruction.

Mrs. Turk has a Master of Education degree. She holds certification for English Language Learners as well. Kara resides in Hawkinsville and is the proud mother of three children and five grandchildren. Her hobbies include reading, painting, and traveling with family and friends.
