Planters First Bank proudly announces the 2022-2023 March School Administration Spotlight for Pulaski County Schools. This spotlight program is held in conjunction with the Pulaski County School System through their nomination and directional process on choosing the educator for the monthly spotlight that will run from September through April of each school year.
Congratulations, Kindal Smith, for being selected as this month’s spotlight!
Kindal Smith is currently serving in her first year as the Assistant Principal for Hawkinsville High School. She graduated with honors from HHS in 2004 and has many fond memories of her time in the Pulaski County School System.
Her career in education began in Crisp County as a high school English teacher. After nine years in the classroom, Kindal transferred to Crisp County Primary School, where she served as the Media Specialist/Technology Coordinator for the next five years before taking a leadership position back home in Pulaski County. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English with Teacher Certification from Georgia Southwestern State University and a Master of Education in Media and Instructional Technology from the University of West Georgia.
To Kindal, leadership is more than making the tough decisions, it is showing others how to navigate the difficulties and come out better on the other side. She hopes to inspire all students to be the best version of themselves and make the most out of their time at HHS.
Kindal is married to Riley Smith, and together they have a son, Jase. As a family, they enjoy traveling and sightseeing around the United States with the goal of visiting all fifty states (they are over halfway there!).
