Congratulations to Bridge Creek Inn on your recent groundbreaking!

Jamie Langham, SVP Bibb County Regional President commented; “Planters First Bank is thrilled to partner with Peter, Tyler, and Mat on the Bridge Creek Inn revitalization. This hotel will be the perfect addition to the already thriving downtown of Clayton, GA. Also, a big thank you to Cory Stewart with Georgia Small Business Capital for helping us facilitate this partnership.”

Ridgeline Investment Partners is excited to announce the groundbreaking of a new hotel coming to Main Street in Clayton, Georgia. Bridge Creek Inn, as it will be known, is a rebuild of the Old Clayton Inn which was first built on the site in the 1940s. Construction began in August and is expected to take roughly twelve months with a target open date of Labor Day 2023.

The new owners will use the original footprint of the hotel, while rebuilding the second floor and adding a third story. Bridge Creek Inn will include 45 guest rooms & suites, a coffee shop, a lobby bar, and a full-service restaurant. The Inn will feature several event venues with 3,600 square feet of indoor and 2,000 plus square feet of outdoor event space.

Mat Barnwell, Tyler Caswell, and Peter Evers serve as the principals for the project. “Peter, Mat, and I each have our own distinct and cherished history in Rabun County. Our love for Clayton runs deep, and we believe immensely in its future. The town itself – and the countless individuals involved to date – have been wonderful to work alongside these past two years. Our goal is to build an upscale boutique hotel, that honors the heritage of the town and surrounding area, while providing a modern touch. Serving as the perfect outpost for those looking to explore the vast outdoors, the thriving downtown of Clayton, and the gem that is Rabun County,” said Caswell.

“We are beyond thrilled with what Peter, Mat, and Tyler are (re)building in the Bridge Creek Inn. The guys have been great to work with and it’s been exciting to review all their plans and renderings. Everyone in town is very excited and we can’t wait for the opening next summer!” said Mayor Kurt Cannon.

Clayton serves as the largest town and county seat of Rabun County. Clayton features a charming and historic Main Street with authentic dining and shopping.

Rabun County, tucked in the northeast corner of Georgia and only 90 minutes from Atlanta, has long been known as a vacation destination. An outdoor paradise, the area is known for its mountains, lakes, rivers, waterfalls, hiking, fishing, state parks, national forests, and the Appalachian Trail.
