Planters First Bank is proud to announce the February Teacher Spotlight for Pulaski County Schools. This spotlight is a new program that Planters First Bank has initiated and held in conjunction with the Pulaski County School System through their nomination and directional process on choosing the educator for the monthly spotlight that will run from October through April of each school year.
LaTia Carr is a teacher at LITTLE Children Growing-Pulaski County Schools Pre-K program. While Mrs. Carr has four years of experience in education, this is her first year teaching Pre-K. Mrs. Carr believes that every child is a learner and deserves a quality education regardless of their background.
She works each day with this quote by Lady Bird Johnson in mind: "Children are likely to live up to you believe of them." Each day when her students enter the classroom, Mrs. Carr makes sure to welcome them with a warm smile and enthusiastic greeting.
Carr has earned a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia Southern University. Carr will obtain her Master's degree in Teacher Leadership this May from Thomas University. She also taught third grade for four years before coming to Pre-K.
Carr and her husband, Michael, live in Eastman, Georgia. She has one daughter, Mia, and one stepson, MJ. Carr enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, scrapbooking, watching college football, and shopping.
