Planters First Bank is proud to announce the November Teacher Spotlight for Pulaski County Schools. This spotlight is a new program that Planters First Bank has initiated and held in conjunction with the Pulaski County School System through their nomination and directional process on choosing the educator for the monthly spotlight that will run from October through April of each school year.
Tonya Hendrix Hair is a Kindergarten teacher at Pulaski County Elementary School. She has fifteen years of teaching experience, all in Pulaski County. Mrs. Hair always ensures that her students experience success by challenging their abilities in order to encourage as much growth and development as possible. Tonya has served on countless committees throughout her tenure at PCES. Mrs. Hair is an enthusiastic, talented, and invaluable member of the PCES team, according to Monica Bass, PCES Principal.
Mrs. Hair believes that each child is a gift. Each student comes packaged in his/her own unique way. No matter how they arrive, all children need love and compassion. She believes that if a child feels safe and loved, skills and knowledge will follow suit. Children grow, learn, and acquire skills at their own pace. Every child can flourish and experience success when shown love, nurturing, and acceptance by the teacher.
Mrs. Hair holds a Master of Education degree. She and her husband, Jeff, reside in Hawkinsville with their eleven-year-old son, Jackson. Tonya is an active member of The Oaks Community Church, where she serves on the children’s committee and the fellowship committee. In her spare time, she enjoys being with her family and friends. Tonya also enjoys decorating and traveling.
