Planters First Bank is proud to announce the 2021-2022 March Teacher Spotlight for Pulaski County Schools. This spotlight program is held in conjunction with the Pulaski County School System through their nomination and directional process on choosing the educator for the monthly spotlight that will run from September through April of each school year.
Congratulations, Mindy Curtis, for being selected as this month’s Teacher Spotlight!
Mindy Curtis, a 7th-grade math teacher was recently selected by her peers as Teacher of the Year for Pulaski County Middle School. Mrs. Curtis is married to Will Curtis, Minister of Music at Broad Street Baptist Church. Their three children are Camille, 8, Baker, 7, and Paul, 3. Camille and Baker attend PCES. Mindy has been teaching for 15 years, with the last 4 being at PCMS. Prior to coming to Pulaski County schools, she taught math, science, and social studies to 5th - 7th-grade students. She has a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Middle Grades Math and Science.
Currently, she is pursuing her Specialist degree in Teacher Leadership. Mrs. Curtis is the 7th-grade team leader and the PCMS RTI math teacher. She has been instrumental in implementing and refining our RTI process. In the classroom, she strives not only to meet the needs of each of her individual students but to also build meaningful relationships with them. Mrs. Curtis has the ability to reach even the most difficult of students, build their self-confidence, and inspire them to achieve. Her love of math and enthusiasm for teaching is evident all day, every day.
