Dr. Johnny Bembry
Bembry Veterinary Clinic,
Owner/Veterinarian
We're a bank in the business of growing businesses. Each quarter, Planters Bank recognizes customers who have chosen to partner with us to help make their business goals a reality. Customer service isn't an afterthought; it's at the core of everything we do. Our goal is to help you succeed - because when you succeed, we succeed.
"Congratulations to Dr. Johnny Bembry for being selected for the 2020 DISTINGUISHED CONSERVATIONIST AWARD. To me, a 'conservationist' is someone who believes in leaving something better than how you found it. It's at the heart of who he is as a person, and is a very unselfish way to live. We are proud and lucky to have Johnny in this bank family." stated Bob Way, Board Chairman and President of Planters First Bancorp.
Each year, the Georgia Conservancy confers the Distinguished Conservationist Award in recognition of an individual or institution that has left a profound and lasting impact on the conservation and protection of Georgia's natural resources. Dr. Johnny Bembry, Hawkinsville-native and Pulaski County forester, was announced as the 2020 Distinguished Conservationist for his efforts to advance both sustainable forestry practices and ecologically-minded use of conservation easements and programs on private working lands. Dr. Bembry will also be recognized for his work to promote the establishment of a National Park and Preserve in Middle Georgia.
Dr. Bembry serves on the Board of Directors for Planters Bank. He is a native of Pulaski County and an honor graduate of Hawkinsville High School. Dr. Bembry opened Bembry Veterinary Clinic in the spring of 1977. He often works with 4-H clubs in Pulaski and surrounding counties. He also assists local FFA chapters in preparing animals for livestock shows. Dr. Bembry and his wife, Latrelle, have two sons: Tilden and William. They have two dogs, B.D., a rescue from the local pound, and Rusty, a loving chocolate Lab. In his spare time, Dr. Bembry enjoys working on his farm and is an avid tree farmer.
Dan Speight, Chief Executive Officer of Planters First Bancorp, commented, "Dr. Bembry joins a distinguished list of recipients. As our name implies, at Planters Bank, we have been involved in natural resources for 124 years. As we witness Johnny's stewardship with the bank, that passion is also evident with his conservation practices. We are proud of Johnny's accomplishments and thankful for his commitment to the land."
