Planters First Bank is proud to announce the March Teacher Spotlight for Pulaski County Schools. This spotlight is a new program that Planters First Bank has initiated and held in conjunction with the Pulaski County School System through their nomination and directional process on choosing the educator for the monthly spotlight that will run from October through April of each school year.
Allison Hood is a Special Education Teacher at Pulaski County Elementary School. She has seven years of teaching experience, all in Pulaski County. According to PCES Principal Monica Bass, Mrs. Hood is a dedicated and compassionate teacher. She donates her time and talents during the summer months by painting murals on the school walls. Mrs. Hood was instrumental in reviving the Parent Teacher Organization and has worked tirelessly throughout the year on various PTO events. Allison has served on numerous committees during her tenure at PCES.
Mrs. Hood believes that learning occurs when students can make meaningful and personal connections. Allison also recognizes the importance of having a strong bond between school and home to support and foster student learning. She has high expectations for all of her students. The students work hard to reach those goals because they know Mrs. Hood believes in them.
Mrs. Hood has a Bachelor of Education degree. She and her husband, Terry reside in Hawkinsville with their two sons. Jacob (11), is a sixth-grader at PCMS, and Matthew (7), is a first-grader at PCES. Allison and her family are active members of Westview Baptist Church. Her hobbies include camping, crafting, painting, and spending time with her family.
