Planters First Bank Announces New Agricultural Division

Middle Georgia—Planters First Bank is proud to announce the launch of its new Agricultural Division, a dedicated initiative to support the agricultural communities across Middle Georgia. Leading this effort is Wayne Sangster, a highly respected figure in the agricultural lending community, who has joined as an Agricultural Lending Specialist. Joining him is Cathy Sangster, who brings over 15 years of experience and deep agricultural knowledge as the new Agricultural Administrative Assistant.

Wayne Sangster – Agricultural Lending Specialist
Wayne Sangster brings 25+ years of farming and lending experience to Planters First Bank. A third-generation farmer born and raised in Dooly County, Wayne has dedicated his life to agriculture. He and his wife, Cathy Hawkins Sangster, come from multi-generational farming families and are committed to supporting Georgia’s farming communities.

Wayne holds multiple degrees from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and a Bachelor of Science in Crop and Soil Sciences from the University of Georgia. His extensive career includes leadership roles at Colony Bank, Bank of Lenox, and Wilcox County State Bank, where he specialized in row crop production loans, FSA Guaranteed loans, and agricultural equipment appraisals.

We are excited to welcome Cathy Sangster to our team as she joins Wayne in launching our new Agricultural Division. With over 15 years of professional experience, Cathy will significantly impact underwriting, FSA, crop insurance assignments, and daily operations. Her dedication to serving our agricultural customers, along with her collaborative approach with bank personnel, will be pivotal in helping us achieve our organizational goals.
